Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage - This modality utilizes various massage techniques including effleurage, or long sweeping relaxing strokes, tapotament, hacking and percussive strokes for toning and ultimately relaxing the muscles, vibration, effective in treating nerve pain, and petrissage which applies deep wringing and kneading movements which are very effective in the treatment of ailments such as sciatica.  In the case of deep tissue, the pressure of these strokes would be increased to a depth of your preference.  Individuals undress to their comfort level, are draped, and oils lotions, or body butters of a scented or unscented nature are utilized depending on client preference.

Shiatsu - This is a Massage Technique based in Eastern Medicine, specifically, Japan.  The belief is that there are meridians running throughout the entire body, and through these meridians runs our essential life energy, or “Ki”(chi).  Rhythmic kneading, pressure, and stretching is applied in this modality in order to allow the ki to flow healthily through the body allowing for balance and relief of blockages.  The session takes place on either a mat or a massage table.  Client is clothed during this service, and is encouraged to wear loose fitting attire.  No oils, lotions, or body butters are used, though essential oils may be applied upon request.

Integrated Massage – Integrated massage combines all treatments shown as necessary for each individual body requirement.  This allows for somewhat of a “sample platter” option, and offering the general stress reduction health maintenance and pain relief that each bodyworking modality has to offer.  Individuals undress to their comfort level, are draped, and oils lotions, or body butters of a scented or unscented nature are utilized depending on client preference.

Reiki- This is a Japanese energy based modality, and is a wonderful means for reducing stress.  Harnessing your own bodies inherent healing life force, Reiki is administered by laying hands on certain areas throughout the body.  Reiki clients often experience a wonderful glowing sensation, feelings of peace, and a general experience  of over all well being.  It treats the entire individual,  including mind, spirit, and emotions.
