About
- Nationally Certified & Licensed Massage Therapist
- 1000 hours training through Finger Lake School of Massage (Ithaca, NY)
- Registered at Studio 34 Yoga Healing Arts
I graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY in 2009 with 1,000 hours of training. At FLSM I received a well rounded foundation in various Massage modalities including Hydrotherapy, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, and Shiatsu. I have continued to develop these in my independent practice since my completion of the program three years ago, though presently I am focusing on Swedish(deep tissue to light touch) and Shiatsu. Throughout the past three years I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of people, toward the goal of relaxation and stress reduction, as well as an assortment of ailments spanning from herniated discs to frozen shoulder syndrome, quadriplegia to pre-menstrual cramping, and bursitis to neck and shoulder pain. I approach each session with a combination of practical knowledge, focused intuition, and the intention of offering the greatest possible healing & support.
Regarding my hourly rates, I understand that they may seem unbelievably low, and one may wonder, ” why are these rates so low, is she a terrible massage therapist?” No wonderful folks, I am not. The truth is, I am a great massage therapist and you can ask any one of my clients. The theory behind my reasonable rates is founded in the belief that massage is most beneficial when received regularly. There is a misconceived notion around massage, and that is the idea that it is a luxury, an experience to be had once a year, or on special occasions and this is fun as well, because massage is fun, but ultimately massage is most beneficial when received on a regular basis. It builds on itself, releasing a bit more every time all of the stress that has been built up over a lifetime. In this way, massage becomes preventative medicine. Do the math folks, $30 a week vs thousands of dollars in hospital bills from TOO MUCH STRESS. So don’t just treat yourself take care of yourself, because life is so much fulfilling when one is healthy, isn’t it?
